Don’t forget your bathing suit when you enter Xcaret. You will need it when you swim with the dolphins. Bottlenose dolphins exist freely in this park with opportunities to spend time swimming amongst them. Xcaret hosts a special dolphin program just for kids.  They will learn all about these marine friends, as the dolphins perform tricks and the kids caress them.  Xcaret has several ‘Swim with the dolphins’ programs available. Each meant to include the curious traveler in on the whimsical lives of the dolphins.

If you are still holding onto your swimming suit, then adventure further into Xcaret, to the inlets of magical blue water where natural Jacuzzi’s are formed by waves and vivid colorful fish are crystal clear to the eye. Take a plunge into a new sport called ‘scuba diving’, a combination of scuba diving and snorkeling, but only easier. Scuba diving will take you to the world’s second largest barrier reef. This eco tour will delight you as you walk among turtles in their habitat.

Before you get into dry clothes, there is still the underground rivers of Xcaret waiting for you to explore. At the entrance of the mangroves, pink flamingoes welcome you in. Inside waiting are mysterious caves and unique rock formations. Six different exits open to the tropical sun and the rivers are lit in strategic areas to emphasize the natural beauty of these ancient underground rivers.

Included in your admission to the eco theme park is the butterfly pavilion. One of the largest multi level gardens for butterflies existing today.  It supports free flight of native butterflies, with thousands fluttering around you, making you like a child again. If insects move you, then you can take leave of the butterflies over to the bee farm.

A visit inside Xcaret would not be complete without seeing Jaguar Island. It is here the world’s most beautiful cat’s play amongst a jungle setting. Telescopes exist to let the curious eyes see into the secret habitat of these elegant creatures. When you’re ready to explore more jungle wildlife, there is also Monkey Island and a crocodile habitat.

As you wind down from the day’s activities, you will be pleasantly surprised by all the shows and exhibitions in which Xcaret provides.  You can have dinner at “Gran Tlachco” and take in a show at the same time. A taste of Mexico combined with cultural music and dance performances tantalizes all five of your senses. Also in the evening, a folklore performance plays out, with drums beating in the background as fires burn high mixed with the smells of incense and the sounds of Mayan children singing. Only here, will you then realize you have touched paradise.
